An electric motor is a machine which converts electrical energy by generating force through torque on the motor shaft; to do this, the motor interacts between the magnetic field of the motor and the electric current in a wire winding. They obtain power through direct current (DC) sources like batteries or alternating current (AC) sources, such as generators and inverters. Since their creation, motors have become far more efficient through manufacturing breakthroughs.
Transformers can be found wherever Alternating Current (AC) electrical energy is at use, and they serve the purpose of trading voltage for current in a circuit without affecting the overall electrical power provided to the system. This means that they take high-voltage electricity with a small current and alternate it into low-voltage electricity with a large current. As transformers are only applied to equipment that use AC, they cannot be utilized for Direct Current (DC) applications, making it imperative that all electrical technicians and/or engineers understand when and where transformers can be most beneficial.
Whether at home or work, it is common for many individuals to have easy access to computers in modern day life. However, only a few people know how computers actually function. One such component that is fundamental for the operation of computers is the electronic microprocessor. This component is a small, yet powerful, circuit board that processes binary data as input commands, and works to provide an output accordingly. While the aforementioned information is not enough to understand the complexity of electronic microprocessors, in this blog, we will briefly go over what a microprocessor is and its functions.
